On Thursday 21st October, Vinnies Financial Counsellor, Liza Chatterton, is highlighting the depth of poverty in Mandurah during 2021 Anti-Poverty Week with a stand outside the Vinnies Support Centre.

Every sixth child is living in poverty in the Peel Region. So many families live in despair because they cannot see a way forward because they pay high rent, have utility bills and medical expenses plus education costs.
Many times, they are also in debt to a range of companies as they struggle to survive.

“And Christmas is just 60 something days away and the huge pressure that people face at this time will probably add to their burdens”, Liza said.
“We like to give people hope, and the tools to get out of the financial hardship so life is better.

Head along on the day if you'd like to talk about issues you or your family are facing, and ways they may be addressed by a trained financial counselor, who will be there to provide information on what kind of help is available.

Head along and have a chat, or just enjoy the free cup of soup and a roll, from 10am to 2pm on Thursday October 21 at St Vincent De Paul Society, 23 Davey St Mandurah.
