Australia's athletes will be vaccinated by the time they head to the Tokyo games in July.
Whilst the vaccination is compulsory for AOC staff it will not be for athletes however Australian Olympic Chef De Mission Ian Chesterman is confident all athletes will be.
"We're in conversations with the federal government regarding access. They're confident we will fall into a natural spot in the queue that will allow us to be vaccinated," Chesterman said.
"We take our confidence from having had some pretty open conversations.
"It's not appropriate (to be vaccinated) now because they're still dealing with people who need it more."
Athletes will also be set for Brisbane and Sydney return after the games with the AOC working through the quarantine plan with the respective state governments.
