The Dockers have suffered their biggest loss under coach Justin Longmuir to the tune of 45-points.
Carlton dominated from early in the game to comfortably account for their opposition 16.13.109 to 9.10.64.
Michael Walters and Matt Taberner booted two goals each in one of the only highlights for the afternoon.
Coach Justin Longmuir left to label the performance as "unacceptable."
"I said to the players at half-time, that's not acceptable to allow that to happen," Longmuir said.
"We can't be a team that hangs our teammates out to dry.
"I thought we stepped up to the mark and there were a lot more physical efforts by our players in the second-half, but we can't allow teams to do that to us.
"We need to take that lesson out of the game because it wasn't good enough."
Hayden Young (hamstring) and Lachie Schultz (concussion) were left injured from the clash.
