Aussie opener Aaron Finch has declared himself fit to play in his maiden Boxing Day Test appearance in front of his home crowd.
Finch took a nasty knock to the batting hand during the second Test in Perth where he was forced to retire hurt and resume batting at a later stage.
"With a Boxing Day Test, being from Victoria, it's going to have to be cut off (to not play)," Finch said.
"It's going to be a catch and bat today and reassess, but it feels like it's improved 100 per cent over the last couple of days.
"I got sent some new bats, so I've been walking around the lounge room and waving them around. It feels OK."
It will be the first time since Keith Stackpole and Paul Sheahan combined in the 1973 MCG Test that Victoria will supply the two openers.
