Glory eyeing off Premier's Plate

A piece of Diego Castro brilliance has scored Perth Glory a 2-1 win over Melbourne Victory.

Neil Kilkenny scored in the 69th minute in the match but when Victory levelled Castro got a little boot on a cross from Chris Ikonomidis to find the back of the net.

Perth are now seven-points clear at the top of the A-League ladder and have one eye on the premiers plate.

Iknonomidis said it was a crucial victory.

"It's still early to be thinking about things down the track but tonight was huge for us," Ikonomidis said.

"We kept to our guns. We know Victory always come out strong at home.

"We thought we would stay compact, stay tight and eventually the spaces would open up and we've got players in the front third that would make a difference."
