Hayden Ballantyne will play his last home game for the Dockers on Saturday after being told he won't be offered a new contract.
Ballantyne will pursue other playing opportunities for next season with the 32-year-old believing he still has what it takes to play at the highest level.
The small forward has played 170-games to date for the Dockers and kicked 254 goals in that time.
“I’ll be finishing up at Freo this year. It’s not a retirement as such, I’ll still be hoping to play footy next year, and whether that’s at AFL or WAFL level, that’s still to be decided. I’ve loved my time at the club, and I wish everyone all the best for the future.” Ballantyne said.
He and Cam McCarthy have both been included in the Dockers side to play Essendon while Bailey Banfield and Jason Carter have been omitted.
Fremantle also celebrate Michael Walters 150th game this Saturday.
