Mariners fall at final hurdle

Rockingham-Mandurah have been knocked out of the WACA Premier Cricket finals in straight sets.

Needing to defeat Wanneroo for a place in the final the Mariners got off to a good start winning the toss and batting first.

Nathan Hutchison was the main stay of the innings posting 96 while coach Craig Simmons contributed with an unbeaten 56 from 66 balls as the home side was bowled out for 234.

Ashley Blake made the perfect start on the second day picking up a wicket to leave Wanneroo 1/0 in the chase.

But wickets were few and far between from there for the Mariners as Wanneroo strolled to the total three wickets down.
