Matildas and Olyroos win openers

Australia is off to a flyer at the Tokyo Olympics after both our round ball teams had impressive starts.

The Matildas opened their campaign with a 2-1 victory goals to Sam Kerr and Tameka Yallop in the first half setting up the victory.

Meanwhile, the Olyroos have had an stunning 2-0 win over Argentina to begin their campaign.

Western United's Lachie Wales scored the opener inside the opening 15-minutes when he latched onto a Joel King cross at the far post and put his side-footed first touch past the goalkeeper.

19-year-old Marco Tilio sealed the win 30 seconds after coming onto the field in the 80th minute, sending a beautiful strike into the top corner from outside the 18-yard box.
