Naitanui ahead of schedule

Eagles star ruckman Nic Naitanui is targeting the clubs round 10 clash with Port Adelaide as a possible comeback date.

Naitanui believes he is almost two-months ahead of schedule and will be pushing for a return in the May 25 match.

“Every Wednesday myself and a few other boys do some stuff on the sprung floor out at the Ninja Academy. A bit of jumping, skipping and things like that. We do that, we do Jacob’s Ladder and then we do cardio and then weights in the arvo,” Naitanui said.

A second rehab from knee reconstruction Naitanui says has given him valuable lessons.

“Last time I was on crutches probably for six to eight weeks longer than this time. I was just checking my numbers earlier on today and it is going stronger through my legs.

“I wasn’t able to put any pressure or weight through my legs for about 12 to 16 weeks. This time I did six weeks and I was back walking and jogging pretty quickly."
