Wildcats cruise to victory

The Perth Wildcats have dominated the South East Melbourne Phoenix by 31-points at RAC Arena on Friday night.

It was the Cats first game against the NBL's newest side, controlling the game from the start to end on 110-79.

Perth shared the scoring, as six players reached double figures, led by Terrico White with 17.

But coach Trevor Gleeson said it was the defensive performance from his side which impressed him the most.

"It was much better Wildcats basketball than this time last Friday," he said.

"The guys were really switched on and defensively we were first class.

"We set the tone pretty early with how we were going to defend for the rest of the game."

Perth will look to make it three consecutive wins when they head to Illawarra to take on the Hawks on Sunday.

Tip-off is at 2pm WST.
