On This Day... the first AFL Grand Final game was played for the first time in 1902, the Cannes Film Festival was held for the first time in 1946, the Morris Minor car debuted in London in 1948, Jim Croce died tragically in a plane crash in 1973, Gavin Wanganeen became the first Indigenous AFL player to win the Brownlow in 1993, Chris Judd became the first West Coast Eagles player to get a Brownlow, and Steve Irwin's memorial service was held in 2006 at Australia Zoo.
