Queensland was proclaimed a colony separate from NSW in 1859, the world's first Traffic Lights began operation in London in 1868, the Surf Lifesaving Association of Australia was founded in 1949, Lawrence of Arabia premiered in 1962, Otis Redding, the American soul singer, died aged 26 in a plane crash in 1967, just 3 days after recording his huge hit Dock of the Bay, Buckingham Palace announced that Prince Charles and Princess Diana had officially separated in 1992, The Fellowship of the Ring premiered in 2001, Richard Pryor, the US comedian passed away in 2005, and Avatar, direct by James Cameron and starring Rockingham's own Sam Worthington premiered in 2009, becoming the biggest box office movie of all time. We are expecting the sequel in 2022.
