On This Day... the Motown Record company was founded by Berry Gordy Jr as Tamal Records in 1959, Doctor Who began on ABC TV in Australia in 1965, led Zeppelin's self-titled debut album was released in the UK in 1969, Dame Agatha Christie, the English crime writer, passed away aged 85 in 1976, Britney Spears' hit One More Time went to #1 in 1999, and Maurice Gibb from the Bee Gees passed away aged 53 in 2003.
