On This Day... the FA Cup was formed in 1871, the Free Kick was introduced into the VFL in 1920, Guglielmo Marconi, the Italian inventor who is best known for his development of a radio telegraph system and a pioneer of the modern radio, passed away aged 62 in 1937, the First Singles Charts were published in 1940, Neil Armstrong became the first man to walk on the moon in 1969, we lost US martial arts movie star, Bruce Lee aged 32 in 1973, Kylie Minogue's debut single The Loco-Motion was released in 1987, the 7 pm Project began on Ten in 2009, Chester Bennington, the US singer with Linkin Park, died aged 41 in 2017, and we lost Australian tennis player and coach, Peter McNamara in 2019 at the age of 64.
