The City has released the guide ahead of Monday's relaxation of restrictions for cafes and restaurants.

Following the State Government’s announcement that cafes and restaurants will be permitted to reopen with up to 20 patrons from Monday 18 May 2020, the City of Rockingham’s Health Services have prepared information packs outlining how businesses can reopen safely.

The Food Businesses Guide outlines the steps business must take to ensure they meet public safety requirements and that they are complying with the Food Act 2008.

The guide includes a range of informative points including rules around social distancing, hygiene, cleaning and disinfecting. A handy action plan template for reopening is also included.

City of Rockingham Mayor Barry Sammels encouraged local food businesses to take advantage of the assistance provided in the Food Businesses Guide.

“As businesses throughout the City of Rockingham start preparing for the relaxation of restrictions in Stage Two of the State’s COVID-19 recovery roadmap, the City’s Health Services has created a Food Businesses Guide to assist local food businesses as they reopen,” Mayor Sammels said.

“We are committed to supporting local businesses as much as we can and this handy guide will outline the steps that businesses need to take to ensure they are ready to reopen safely and continue their recovery.”
