Rockingham Youth Beach Party on the horizon

Local young people are invited to attend the Youth Beach Party which will take place at the new Lookout at the Rockingham Foreshore.

The free event, for those aged 12 to 18 years, will feature live tunes by DJ Jeremy Tucker, giant waterslides, free slushies and hamburgers.

Representatives from Headspace Rockingham will be making flower crowns and the crew from Don’t Drink and Drown will also be running activities in the park.

Mayor Barry Sammels said the City was excited to be able to offer young people a chance to enjoy the recently revitalised foreshore.

“The Youth Beach Party is one of the City’s most popular annual events for young people and is a great opportunity for our younger residents to connect, relax and enjoy an afternoon just for them,” Mayor Sammels said.

“We have been delighted with the attendance of previous events and this year we had about 1500 people in attendance.

“The foreshore precinct is looking fantastic following the revitalisation and we look forward to welcoming young people from across the community to the Youth Beach Party in early 2020.”

During the event the City will provide shaded areas for people to chill out in the park, bean bags, security, first aid and youth workers to support young people.

The City’s SmartWatch team, WA Police and volunteers from Surf Lifesaving WA will also be in attendance to ensure a safe afternoon for everyone.

The event will be accessible to people with disability.
