Australia Post has opened applications for its 2026 Community Grants Program, with local community groups able to apply for up to $10,000 to help fund projects that bring people together and support mental wellbeing.

The focus is on community-led ideas that help people connect in meaningful ways... because we all know a simple conversation, shared activity, or local gathering can make a big difference.

And this year there's extra support available too, with an additional $250,000 in funding set aside for communities recovering from natural disasters or major storm events, helping build resilience and strengthen local connections.

So whether it's a community garden, men's shed program, youth initiative, creative project, or wellbeing activity, Australia Post is looking for ideas that make a positive impact close to home.

Applications are now open, so if your local group has a great idea, it could be worth putting your hand up. After all, strong communities start with people looking out for each other.
