Did you know a day on Venus is the length of 243 days on Earth?!

Gunners & Ali - Ali's Random Facts

Monday, 15 June 2026 - 2 minutes

Imagine waking up on your birthday... and not having another sunrise until after your next birthday!

That's basically what happens on Venus.

Venus is the second planet from the Sun, and it's famous for doing things a little differently.
Most planets spin pretty quickly, but Venus is incredibly slow. In fact, it takes 243 Earth days for Venus to spin around once on its axis.

And Venus has another strange habit... it spins backwards compared to most planets. So on Venus, the Sun rises in the west and sets in the east.

Space is full of surprises, but Venus might just be the only place where you can be a year older before the day is over! 🌎🚀🪐✨
