Before kick-off, Robbie Williams, Jennifer Hudson, Post Malone and Nicole Scherzinger helped fire up the crowd, while celebrities including David and Victoria Beckham, Matt Damon, Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner watched from the stands. With Tom Cruise giving an inspiring speech.
Then came the tournament's first-ever halftime show.
Madonna kicked things off with a high-energy performance of 'Music'.
Followed by The Muppets performing Seven Nation Army with a live orchestra.
BTS brought the house down with Dynamite, before Jason Sudeikis surprised fans by appearing as Ted Lasso introducing Justin Bieber.
The Biebs performed a special World Cup version of Everything Hallelujah.
Finally, Shakira and Burna Boy closed the show with the official World Cup anthem, making football history with FIFA's very first halftime spectacular.
Oh... and Spain beat Argentina with a 1 - 0 victory.
And Gal Gadot stars in the action thriller The Runner.
