This Saturday 27th February, there will be a reunion of the New Zealand 5th Battalion WWC & Taranaki Regiment for veterans across the Australian and New Zealand Military as well as the general public who wish to pay their respects.
The reunion will also coincide with Waitangi Day in Mandurah, taking place on the Eastern Foreshore.
The Battalion is the oldest continuously serving unit in the New Zealand Military.
Members of the public are invited to the Mandurah War Memorial from 7am for an 8am start. The service is supported by the Mandurah RSL and will acknowledge the wartime service of Maori and Aboriginal Australians. There will be a Welcome to Country and wreath laying.
After the service, Military vehicles will transport older veterans over the bridge for the Waitangi Day celebrations.
