American actress Hayden Panettiere has died age 36.
She was best known for her roles in Heroes and Nashville.
“It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Hayden,” a representative for Panettiere said in a statement.
“She was an incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her -- and to the millions who watched her onscreen.”
The cause of her death has not been revealed.
Panettiere released her memoir in May this year which recounted her past alcohol addiction, giving up custody of her daughter and the impact of being a child actor.
