Premier Mark McGowan has unveiled the Plan for Peel which features a large funding package to keep Murray-Wellington, Mandurah and Dawesville strong if re-elected.
The Plan for Murray-Wellington, Mandurah and Dawesville promises to continue investing in the area, through commitments in tourism, schools, roads, TAFE, hospitals and community facilities.
The Premier confirmed funding will continue to a number of local projects including the $152 million redevelopment of Peel Health Campus, $82 million for Lakelands METRONET station and $49.3 million for the Transforming Peel initiative.
New initiatives revealed yesterday were the Peel Food Technology Facility being funded for $10 million, $7 million for road and rail crossing upgrades at Cookernup, Coolup and Waroona, and $3 million to go towards a Dawesville Community Centre.
Premier Mark McGowan said creating jobs and training opportunities for Western Australians will always be his number one priority, and the Plan for Peel will ensure their major investment into Peel will continue.
"My government has invested more funding into regional WA than any government in history, and has delivered upgrades to schools, TAFEs, hospitals, roads and tourism," he said.
"Our strong budget management and Plan for Peel will ensure the region's future is stronger than ever."
