A Mandurah woman is $300,000 richer after taking out the top prize in a Scratch‘n’Win game.
The winner said she decided to visit newsXpress Mandurah to purchase a $20 WA Winners Club game.
“I was at the shops with my daughter, but I walk a bit slower than her,” she said.
“So, I grabbed a ticket while she took off into other shops.”
That decision led the player to purchase a game, now worth $300,000.
“I’ve never won anything before,” she said.
“I must have been looking at the scratchie for ten minutes in disbelief.”
Lotterywest spokesperson James Mooney said the win makes it 40 Scratch‘n’Win Top Prizes for WA in 2023.
“The past two Top Prize wins for WA have been from Mandurah,” Mr Mooney said.
“In late September a ticket from Nextra Forum West Newsagency sold a $200,000 prize.
“These 40 Top Prize winners from WA have shared in more than $4.1 million.”
