Police are calling on witnesses to a terrifying assault in Busselton where a woman was allegedly struck in the head with a meat cleaver.
It's alleged a man drove a grey Honda Accord into several parked cars near a laneway on Queens Street around 6pm on July 11, just missing a pedestrian.
He then got out of the car and entered a restaurant kitchen, allegedly stealing a meat cleaver.
The man then allegedly forced his way into a premises next door and hit a 43-year-old woman in the head with the cleaver, causing a deep cut.
She was taken to Busselton Health Campus for treatment.
A 47-year-old Busselton man has been charged with burglary and commit, stealing and intending to do grievous bodily harm.
He appeared in Busselton Magistrates Court on July 12 and is due to reappear on August 6.
