Today is Workers Memorial Day - how can you make a difference?!

Gunners & Ali - Ali's Random Facts

Tuesday, 28 April 2026 - 2 minutes

Workers Memorial Day is observed each year on April 28, and it’s a day that quietly asks us to pause and think about people who have been hurt or lost their lives while doing their jobs.

It’s not a loud or celebratory day... it’s a reflective one.

It recognises workers across all kinds of roles, from construction sites and farms to hospitals, roads, and warehouses. Many of these jobs are essential to everyday life, but they can also carry risks.

The purpose of the day is twofold: to remember those who have died or been injured at work, and to highlight the importance of safety so that fewer families have to experience that kind of loss in the future.
