ANZAC Day is a day that sits deeply in the heart of Australia and New Zealand.
It commemorates the landing of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps at Gallipoli on April 25, 1915… the first major military action fought by our troops in World War One.
But over time, Anzac Day has come to represent so much more. It honours more than 103,000 Australians who have lost their lives in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping missions.
Across the country today, people will gather at dawn services - in silence, in reflection - as the rising sun marks the same hour those soldiers first stepped ashore.
We’ll hear the Last Post… we’ll pause… and we’ll remember.
It’s a day of mate-ship, courage, sacrifice… and gratitude.
Lest we forget.
