Very sad news from the Australian music world Angry Anderson, the legendary frontman of Rose Tattoo, has passed away at the age of 79.
And what a career he had.
Angry fronted Rose Tattoo for five decades, with classics including Rock ’n’ Roll Outlaw, Bad Boy for Love, Nice Boys and We Can’t Be Beaten.
The band became icons of Australian pub rock and were inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 2006.
Angry also had huge solo success with Suddenly, which became one of the most memorable songs of the 80s after featuring in the famous wedding episode of Neighbours between Scott and Charlene.
He was also an actor, TV presenter and passionate youth advocate, and was made a Member of the Order of Australia for that work.
He suffered a cardiac arrest last month while Rose Tattoo were on their final European tour, and his family says he passed away on Monday surrounded by loved ones here in Australia.
A true Aussie rock legend... and what a soundtrack he leaves behind.
Vale, Angry Anderson.
