Love Stranger Things and want to learn how to run your own Dungeons & Dragons game? Dungeon Mastering 101 is the perfect place to begin!
This beginner-friendly workshop introduces the essentials of becoming a Dungeon Master — the storyteller and guide behind every epic adventure. We’ll cover the foundations: how to shape a simple world, build interesting quests, create characters and monsters, and run fun encounters that keep your players engaged.
You won’t become a master overnight — that comes with practice, practice, and more practice — but this workshop gives you the tools, confidence, and starting point you need to begin. Think of it as your launchpad into the world of DM’ing.
Participants will explore:
✅Crafting basic adventures and story hooks
✅Creating characters and magical settings
✅Running encounters and keeping the game moving
✅Using imagination and role-play to bring stories to life
And if you’d like to put your new skills into action, you’re warmly invited to join our D&D Basics Session on 19 January, 1pm - 5pm, where you can practise what you’ve learned and dive deeper into the game!
If you’re curious about DM’ing or ready to start leading your own games, come along and learn the fundamentals. Every great Dungeon Master starts somewhere — and this is your first step!
To participate, please complete the Youth Services Registration Form prior to the event. This is a FREE event for young people aged 12–25. Priority will be given to those who live or study in the Shire of Murray.
