Set in the local church hall, where social climber Hyacinth Bucket pronounced Bookay is showing her painting “Willows by Moonlight in the art exhibition.At the same time and in same hall Hyacinth’s long suffering neighbour Emmet is directing a play for the local dramatic society. When Hyacinth learns that the role of Lady Melvernis yet to be cast, nothing will stop her playing the role.
