A team of local Mandurah creatives have launched their latest musical, Not in Our Backyard, and it's available on CD!

'Not in Our Backyard' is an original and locally based musical drama by Local musician and composer James Perkins, poet and scriptwriter Christopher Harlow, script editor Deb Harlow, and producer Helen Perkins.

Set in WA, the play explores the drama of love, lies and land rights featuring local singers and Indigenous and non-Indigenous actors, alongside music from The Classic Sounds Orchestra led by Rachel John.

The show centered around the establishment of a storage facility for radioactive waste material.

The plot is wrapped around a tragic love story between Rachel, an environmentalist against such a facility, and Tony, who works for Pantopia Industries, a global company that stands to make significant financial gain from the project.

CDs are available for purchase, where a percentage of the sale will be donated to the WA Parkinson’s Association.

To purchase a CD, email jimandhelenperkins@gmail.com and they'll send you a copy!
