Around 8pm a man entered a supermarket on Birchwood Avenue.
He was armed with a knife and demanded cash.
He removed cigarettes from the display and walked out of the store.
Police say there were a number of staff and shoppers in the store at the time.
He's described as being light skinned with a silver knife.
