The Arson Squad is investigating a bushfire that came dangerously close to homes in Port Kennedy.
It sparked up around 9.30am on Thursday in bushland at the intersection of Bakewell Drive and Paxton Way.
An emergency warning was issued for nearby residents.
Many evacuated after seeing how close the flames were to their properties.
It took hours for fire crews on the ground and in the air to bring the blaze under control.
A bushfire advice remains for the area.
