Northam Detectives have charged a 36-year-old man as a result of their investigation into several incidents that occurred around the Lancelin area on Wednesdsy
It is alleged around 1.10pm, the man slashed the tyres of a vehicle parked on Indian Ocean Drive near Caraban Road in Caraban.
It is also alleged the man then travelled to the home of a person known to him on Ocean Farm Drive in Nilgen, where he set fire to a room which was destroyed before being extinguished.
A short time later the man was sighted by police driving a Holden Commodore along Ocean Farm Drive. It is alleged the driver did not stop for police when requested to do so and accelerated away from them.
The man was later arrested at a roadhouse on Dewar Road in Gingin. The Bunbury man has been charged with a string of offences including no authority to drive, reckless driving and criminal damage.
He is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates court today.
