City of Mandurah are getting into the Christmas spirit and asking grounds to start planning their parade floats.

As the end of the year draws closer and closer City of Mandurah officials are gearing up for end of year seasonal festivities.

The Mandurah Community Christmas Pageant is set to return to the streets on November 30 with a call out for float registration now open.

Last year Peel Pottery was the big winner of the float contest. Second prize went to Singleton Primary, and third prize to the folk at Tuckey’s Tackle.

Community members who are interested in entering a float will need to visit the City of Mandurah website with applications closing October 29.

In addition to the parade of floats there will be fireworks, live stage entertainment, and Santa’s Grotto. This year Santa is hard at working study Auslan.

“Christmas is one of my favourite times of the year because it is a time when the community feels particularly close,” said Mandurah Mayor Rhys Williams.

“I encourage businesses and community groups to take the plunge and enter a float, it’s a great way to demonstrate your contribution to the community and to make our home a happier place."

If you would like to be involved in the Christmas Pageant please contact the City of Mandurah.
