Locals and visitors are invited to spread the Christmas cheer in Rockingham at the 2019 Christmas Festival.
Hosted by the City of Rockingham, the family-friendly event will give people the chance to celebrate the spirit of Christmas from 5pm-9pm on Saturday December 7 at Churchill Park on the Rockingham Foreshore.
The festival will include a Christmas Parade, the turning on of the Christmas lights, a full stage program of entertainment, free children’s activities, community stalls, food vans and roaming Christmas characters.
A longer route for the Christmas Parade will be rolled out this year, with community members encouraged to come and check out the floats, vehicles and walking groups that are participating.
The parade will run from 5.30pm – 6.30pm, starting at the Village Green, travelling down Flinders Lane, turning right onto Kent Street and then left on Wanliss Street.
It will then travel down Rockingham Beach Road before finishing at Churchill Park.

Following the parade, the Christmas lights dotted throughout Churchill Park and the Beach Plaza will be turned on by Mayor Barry Sammels from the stage setup at The Lookout at 8.15pm.
Mayor Sammels encouraged the community to join in the Christmas Festival and spread the spirit of Christmas.
“The City of Rockingham Christmas Festival is one of the highlights on the Summer Series calendar and is a fantastic way to ring in the festive season,” Mayor Sammels said.
“At least 30 different community groups and organisations will be participating in the parade, and the turning on of the Christmas lights is always a highlight.
“Santa and his crew will be coming through at the tail end of the parade and will stop at Churchill Park to meet and greet visitors, so the City encourages everyone to come down and be a part of this exciting annual event.”
The lights at Churchill Park and the Beach Plaza will stay up until Monday January 27, 2020, giving people the chance to see them should they be unable to attend prior to Christmas.

Limited additional parking will be available at the Village Green for the event.
Route 555 buses will also operate every 15 minutes from 5pm – 10pm between Rockingham Train Station and the Rockingham Foreshore.
