City of Rockingham announce candidates for 2025 Local Government Election

The City of Rockingham has announced its candidates for the 2025 Local Government Election.

A total of 17 locals have thrown their hat in the ring for a total of six vacancies, with four vying for the position of mayor.

Current mayor Deb Hamblin has thrown her hat in the ring to retain her role, while Mark Jones, Mike Crichton and Lorna Buchan have all joined the race to take to the top job.

There is one vacancy in the Baldivis ward with Dylan Mbano, Brett Wormall, Samuel Potsey and Eternity Hausen nominating for the role.

Robert Schmidt, Patchara Weggers and David Rudman are running for the sole vacancy in the Comet Bay ward.

Three vacancies are up for grabs in the Rockingham/Safety Bay ward.

Allan Hill, Caroline Hume, Leigh Liley, Ryan Robertson, Dawn Jecks and Jason Davies are all vying for a position. 

Voting packs will start arriving in the mail later this month.

To ensure your vote is counted, ballots should be posted by Wednesday, October 15.

Alternatively, completed voting papers can be hand-delivered to the City of Rockingham Administration Building during the voting period.

Voting closes at 6pm on Saturday, October 18, 2025.

Voting in a local government election is not compulsary but highly encouraged.
