The City of Rockingham’s Social Connector Luncheon program is back for 2019, with a number of delicious options on the table for residents looking to connect with fellow community members.
The Social Connector Luncheon program gives residents who are new to the area or feeling disconnected from their community, the opportunity to meet other residents in a welcoming and friendly environment.
The group meets once a month at a café or restaurant within the City.
Members pay for their own meal and get the chance to socialise and create new friendships with people they wouldn’t normally meet.
City of Rockingham Mayor Barry Sammels said the Social Connector Luncheon program was a great way for residents of all ages to connect with each other.
“The City’s Social Connector Luncheon program is an initiative that is focused on building relationships between people of all ages and bringing disconnected residents back into their community,” Mayor Sammels said.
“Residents who take part in the program have the chance to meet new people and explore some of the fine food and drink venues across our City.
“Forming solid relationships and friendships can be hugely positive for one’s mental health so I encourage any residents who are new to the City or are feeling disconnected to get involved.”
In 2019 the Social Connector Luncheon program will visit a range of venues including:
- Silk Flower Coffee and Tea House in Baldivis (Monday 18 February 2019)
- Whistling Kite in Secret Harbour (Monday 18 March 2019)
- Lulu’s Café in Rockingham (Monday 8 April 2019)
- Brother of Mine in Baldivis (Monday 13 May 2019)
- Exclusive Chinese Cuisine in Rockingham (Monday 10 June 2019).
