The City of Rockingham has approved plans for a $13 million brewery, tavern and short-stay accommodation units at the newly developed Kennedy Bay.
Longpoint Brewing Company's proposal will see a tavern that incorporates a main dining space, central bar and beer garden on the ground floor with a coffee kiosk facing the foreshore reserve.
The upper level will consist of a function space, a bar and a verandah area with ocean views.
It will be licensed for 500 patrons.
The brewery will overlook the future 'main street' and will feature a brewing space, back-of-house space and cool room along with a tasting and merchandise area.
The plans also include nine short-stay accommodation units, eight of those two-bedroom units and one three-bedroom unit.
A 45-bay carpark is also planned for patrons using the tavern and brewery.
At the Council meeting on May 28, the plans were passed unanimously.
They will now be submitted to the Metro Outer Development Assessment Panel for approval.
