A crash that is causing long weekend commuter chaos on the freeway has now been cleared.
A vehicle believed to be a Kia struck a light pole on the Kwinana Freeway southbound near the Thomas Road exit at around 10am.
Two males were in the car.
The driver was taken to Royal Perth Hospital as a precaution, and the passenger had only minor grazes and does not require medical attention.
Emergency personnel and towing services were on site.
The left lane of the freeway southbound was blocked for some time; causing a backlog of vehicles who were travelling for the Labour Day long weekend.
The car has now been removed and traffic is flowing, albeit still very slowly.
