A critically endangered sea turtle, normally found in northern Australia, has washed ashore thousands of kilometres away in Madora Bay.
The Hawksbill turtle was found on Madora Bay Beach this week and was rescued by the team at Naragebup – Rockingham Regional Environment Centre.
He was then taken into care by the WA Wildlife Hospital.

"On admission, he was in very poor condition: extremely flat, cold, thin and dehydrated," WA Wildlife Hospital said in a social media post.
"He is missing a flipper from an old injury, severely hypoproteinaemic, and covered in barnacles and mollusks — all signs of a turtle that has been unwell for quite some time."
The WA Wildlife Hospital said his condition is "critical" but they are doing everything they can do give the turtle a "fighting chance at survival".
