An elderly couple who were involved in a kidnapping incident in January have died just one day apart.
Ralph Gibbs, 80, was convicted of abducting his 84-year-old partner Carol Lisle from her Mandurah nursing home last month.
He attempted to drive her to their home in Queensland but after a three day manhunt Mr Gibbs was caught about an hour from the Northern Territory border.
Ms Lisle, who had Parkinson's disease and dementia, died in her sleep on Tuesday at the Mandurah aged care facility.
Her partner of more than 15 years was then killed in a car crash in Queensland on Wednesday.
Mr Gibbs was only last week served with a suspended sentence for the kidnapping.
