A 31-year-old man have been charged by Rockingham Detectives following a robbery that occurred in Rockingham on Thursday, 23 January 2025.
It will be alleged about 11am, a man and woman aged in their 80’s met with the accused on Bell Street to sell him a piece of jewellery. While inspecting the jewellery, he ran to his vehicle and attempted to leave without paying.
The woman tried to stop the man and fell to the ground before being struck by the vehicle causing injuries to her face and hand. She was treated at the scene by St John Ambulance before being conveyed to Rockingham Hospital.
Detectives believe the accused discarded the jewellery nearby and would like to speak to anyone that locates a gold sovereign pendant and chain in the vicinity of Bell Street and Griggs Way, Rockingham.
A 31-year-old Rockingham man has been charged with:
- Aggravated Robbery
- Possess a Prohibited Drug (Methylamphetamine)
- Possessed drug paraphernalia.
He will next appear in the Perth Magistrates Court on 7 March 2025.
