The City of Rockingham’s popular Summer Series of free entry, family-friendly, smoke-free and alcohol-free events will return in 2022/2023.
The Summer Series runs from December 2022 to the end of March 2023 and provides an opportunity for the Rockingham community to engage and connect with fun, free activities during the summer season at the City’s foreshores, parks and reserves.
Six major annual events are a key part of the Summer Series.
They include the Christmas Festival, New Year’s Eve celebrations, Australia Day, Symphony on the Green, Multicultural Festival and Performance in the Park – Cinderella at the Village Green.
A major highlight will see hit WA rock band Eskimo Joe headlining the City’s New Year’s Eve celebrations.
Fireworks will take place at both the New Year’s Eve and Australia Day events.

The WA Symphony Orchestra (WASO) will entertain at Symphony on the Green, and a number of food vans will take over the Village Green for the Multicultural Festival. The Summer Series concludes with an on-stage performance of Cinderella as part of Performance in the Park.
Other regular Summer Series favourites such as weekly tai chi, yoga and Zumba classes will continue at Rockingham Foreshore, while Soulful Sundays and community fun days will take place across the community.
In this year’s Summer Series the City will deliver three Community Fun Days in new areas including Secret Harbour, Waikiki and Baldivis.
Mayor Deb Hamblin said the City’s Summer Series has a number of events to suit a variety of tastes.
“The City’s hugely popular Summer Series program provides community members with an opportunity to enjoy a number of events and activities in a family-friendly environment,” Mayor Hamblin said.
“Whatever your background, there are a wide range of events to suit everyone. With the Christmas Festival and New Year’s Eve celebration fast approaching, we hope to see many community members out enjoying everything the Summer Series has to offer.”
