A young family have lost nearly everything in a house fire in Pinjarra just days before Christmas.
Kara and Jack Flanders had just flown to Victoria to spend Christmas with their family when they received the devastating phone call that their home was alight.
Firefighters were first called to a nearby scrub fire around 5pm on Tuesday, December 19.
A DFES spokesperson said the fire then spread to the Farmer Loop home.
Crews managed to extinguish the blaze within an hour but the fire caused extensive damage to the home.

A GoFundMe page has since been created to help the Flanders family financially.
"We’re hoping to raise funds to help rebuild, buy essentials and help get this young family back on their feet," organiser Hannah Lynes said.
"The family has had to fly back to Perth to try and go through what little remains of their family home."
