Family injured after tree falls on tent in Dwellingup

A family have been taken to hospital after a tree fell on their tent in Dwellingup.

A man, woman and child were camping at the Nanga Mill campsite at Lane Poole Reserve when the pine tree fell on their tent around 3.30am on Sunday.

It's understood fellow campers rushed the injured family to hospital.

A Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions spokesperson said they are investigating the incident.

"The department is aware of an incident involving a fallen pine tree at Nanga Brook campsite in Lane Poole Reserve," the DBCA spokesperson said.

"The department was alerted to this incident by WA Police Force, with the department providing assistance to the family and Police.

"The area surrounding the fallen tree has been taped off to restrict public access."
