The Shire of Murray is encouraging individuals, community groups and non-profit organisations to apply to the Shire’s grants and funding programs.
The Shire currently has cash available through three funding streams, including the Community Assistance Partnership Fund, Community Sponsorship Fund and Community Facility Fund.
The financial assistance will help build and strengthen organisational capacity, deliver community beneficial initiatives and/or services and contribute to the vibrancy, inclusivity and health of the Murray community.
The Community Assistance Partnership Fund is a partnership between Alcoa and the Shire of Murray.
Applications for round one are open until August 31, 2023.
This fund is open three times each financial year with grants totalling up to $3000 plus GST available per successful applicant per year.
Through the Community Sponsorship Fund, up to $300 is available for individuals and sporting clubs to support travel or accommodation expenses incurred in representing their sport, recreation or academic field either individually or as a team at State, National or International level.
Through the Community Facility Fund, up to $20,000 is available to assist Murray not-for-profit organisations to upgrade, extend or construct well-planned sport, recreation and community facilities that contribute to a vibrant, inclusive and healthy Murray.
Applications are invited once per year, opening on August 1, 2023 and closing October 30, 2023.
Shire President Councillor David Bolt said the Shire is proud to offer organisations and individuals financial support.
“The Shire is proud to support local not-for-profit organisations, associations and groups - they are integral contributors to the local economy and play an important role in enhancing and bolstering community spirit and pride," Councillor Bolt said.
