A record number of volunteers have come together to remove over 525kgs of rubbish from Mandurah's waterways at the annual Luca's Legacy Clean-Up.
The event, in memory of dolphin calf Luca who passed away in 2019 after becoming entangled in discarded fishing line, saw over 200 people collect rubbish from Dawesville Cut Foreshore, Port Bouvard Marina, Avalon Beach, Pyramids Beach, Creery Wetlands and Boundary Island.
Hosted by Coastal Waste Warriors and supported by community groups and organisations, Luca's Legacy has seen a total of around 3.5 tonnes of rubbish removed from Mandurah's waterways since the event began.
