A kangaroo has been shot in the head with an arrow, prompting a local wildlife rescue to find the person responsible.
A photo has emerged of the kangaroo still alive with the arrow sticking out of its head in the Pleasant Grove area in Falcon.
The animal had to be euthanised due to its injury.
Aware Wildlife Rescue posted the photo on their Facebook page asking for the public's help.
"This is an act of severe cruelty against one of our native animals, and we urgently need your help to find the person responsible," the Facebook post read.
RSPCA WA said they had not received a cruelty report in relation to the incident but are aware of it through City of Mandurah rangers.
"If anyone has any information about the circumstances surrounding the kangaroo being shot with an arrow, or information about any persons involved, please report it at rspcawa.org.au or on 1300 278 358," an RSPCA WA spokesperson said.
