More locals than ever are choosing to listen to radio stations in their area, according to the latest 2025 Xtra Insights survey results.
97.3 Coast FM again led the way as the most listened to station in the region with a 23.3 per cent share of the audience.
91.7 The Wave produced strong results, going up 3.1 per cent, to a 20.7 per cent audience share.
Combined, The Wave and Coast FM came out on top as the stations listened to most in the local area, with 44 per cent of the audience share.
Both stations far outweighed their capital city counterparts with Nova recording just 7.7 per cent share of the audience and ABC Perth with 7.3 per cent.

West Coast Radio Content Director John De Bellis said "keeping it local" is what sets them apart from the rest.
"Our simple philosophy of keeping it local, connecting with our region, and having a passionate team working for us has helped us achieve outstanding results," Mr De Bellis said.
“Over fifty stations can be heard in our market, which makes these results even more remarkable."
