Kwinana local runs from Rockingham to Perth and back raising funds for Telethon, premature babies

A Kwinana local has completed a 100km run from Rockingham to Perth and back raising money for Telethon and premature babies.

Luke Taylor started his journey from Patterson Road in Rockingham on Saturday morning, making his way to Perth before returning to the finish line at the Rockingham Foreshore, a 14-hour run.

The 27-year-old spent the first months of his life in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in hospital after being born premature at just 24 weeks.

Luke weighed 625 grams and believes if it wasn't for the life-saving equipment funded through Telethon, he might not have made it.

He now wants to give back, helping other premature babies live healthy lives.

The apprentice electrician has since raised over $6500 for Telethon and nearly $5000 for Running for Premature Babies.
